  • Step 1!
Decide on the Heading you require for your Curtain.

    Step 2!
    Measuring the Width.
We recommend using a metal tape for accuracy.

If you do not have a track or pole already installed then we recommend fitting one that extends by 15cm (minimum) each end of your window and 15 cm above your window recess.

Follow the measuring tips for the track/pole you have installed:

    Step 3!
    Measuring the Curtain Drop!

We recommend using a metal tape for accuracy, and also measuring the drop at 3 different positions as sills and floors are not always level, it is best to go with the shortest drop you measure.

Firstly decide where you want your curtains to finish, we recommend:

    1. Floor level – allow 1cm clearance above carpet or floor surface.
    2. Window sill – allow 1cm above the sill.
    3. Below window sill – allow up to 20cm below the window sill or 1 cm above the radiator.

    • Taking this measurement means the top of the curtain will hang on the eye of the ring. If you wish to hide your rings, you will need to add on the measurement of the area of ring you wish to hide.
    • We will automatically add 2.5 cm to the drop if the eyelet curtain which will sit above the pole.
  • How to measure for Roman Blind

    Step 1: Inside or Outside?

Decide whether you want your roman blind to hang inside or outside of your window, then simply follow these simple steps:

    Step 2: Measuring!

For blinds you wish to hang Inside the Recess:

    • Measure the width and height in 3 places, in case the recess is irregular in shape
    • State the lesser of the dimensions exactly with no deductions, we will make the adjustments to ensure your blind fits perfectly

For blinds you wish to hang Outside the Recess:

Decide how much you wish to overlap the recess at each side, top, and bottom.
    State these dimensions.

To minimise light leakage we recommend you to:

Add at least 5cm to each side of the recess
Add 8cm to the top of the recess
Add 3cm to the bottom of the recess

    Step 3 – Installation Height!

To measure your installation height simply measure from the floor up to where the top of your blind will be, with this installation height we will adjust the chain length accordingly. This stage is optional, if you do not feel you want to state this, we will send you a standard chain length.
